32 metres of refined glass with light create charm and flair in an underground car park entrance in Munich. A 32-metre-long mirrored glass light band and a side-lit glass picture have been created for the transition from the newly built 'Montgelas Park' residential building to the underground car park belonging to it.
For his installation DNA MONTGELAS PARK, 2013, Munich-based artist Andreas Horlitz († 2016) decoded and artistically interpreted the DNA of several trees - please click on the images for a larger view. The art glaziers of the Bayerische Hof Glasmalerei have shaped individual panes according to the curve of the underground car park entrance.
The panes were then silver-yellow printed, sandblasted and mirrored to the artist's specifications. The perfect interplay of glass art and light creates a pleasant atmosphere in the corridor and leaves a lasting impression.
