Glass balloons

Munich artist Ricarda Dietz has created a special work of glass for the traditional Bergader cheese dairy in Waging: A glass hot air balloon with a diameter of five metres and a total size of five by nine metres adorns the new building façade of the Bergader private cheese dairy in Waging.

The balloon envelope depicts a space view of Eurasia, while a flag refers to the cheese dairy's Upper Bavarian location. Fittingly, four spherical lanterns made of glass mosaic set blue accents on four pillars of the site's concrete wall. Below them, three blue façade mosaics worked into the wall, one above the other, depict the main suppliers of the company - the Bavarian cows - partly abstractly, partly figuratively.
