"Harita is what Ergül Cengiz calls her [...] solo exhibition at Galerie Françoise Heitsch. It is the Turkish word for map, plan, city map and the title of a series of works in which the artist explores the meaning of this term on a personal, geopolitical and artistic level [...] The translucent structures suspended from the ceiling bathe the exhibition space in atmospheric light and evoke associations with sacred spaces, the incidence of light through church windows, but also the walk-in installations of James Turell. Seen close up, each individual colour surface creates a different spatial experience; seen together, however, they frame what lies behind them in an almost painterly, abstract manner, playfully blurring the contrasts between background and foreground, outside and inside, vistas and obscurities."

Cordula Schütz

Ergül Cengiz called her solo exhibition at Galerie Françoise Heitsch Harita. On this occasion for the first time she also collaborated with van Treeck.
