The calm before the storm

Prof Claus Hipp gives families peace and security through art: Munich-based artist Nikolaus Hipp has created his first stained glass window for the Ahlen maternity hospital.

The calm before the storm' is the title of his stained glass window for the newly designed maternity ward at the St. Franziskus Hospital in Ahlen, which the glass painters at the van Treeck workshops created according to the artist's design using generous, bold brush strokes and structured firing.

Nikolaus Hipp, also known as the entrepreneur Prof. Claus Hipp, impressively demonstrates with this work how spatially effective his paintings can be translated into glass and how coloured glass can transform rooms into oases of security.
