Colourful paintings for the elderly in Pfaffenhofen: The artist Nikolaus Hipp has created paintings for the glass front and entrance door of the newly designed prayer room at the St. Franziskus retirement home. The glass paintings were created in the van Treeck workshops.
Nikolaus Hipp is also known as the entrepreneur Prof. Claus Hipp. An artist and honorary citizen of the town of Pfaffenhofen, he immediately agreed to design the room's five-part window and door at the request of the Paritätische Altenhilfe St. Franziskus.
"The painting is meant to express light and hope. But the main theme is protection and security. Our path is always upwards, towards the light. The more austere shapes on the doors are meant to stand out from the window image. When they are closed, the coloured stripes look like a rood screen. When open, they invite you to walk through," says Nikolaus Hipp of his designs.
